PMU
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000925
An integrated circuit responsible for managing the power supply within an electronic device, especially mobile phones and portable computers. A Power Management Unit (PMU) controls functions such as voltage regulation, battery charging, power source selection, and the sleep or shutdown states of individual components to conserve energy. PMUs combine multiple power management functions into a single chip, reducing the board space and component count compared to using discrete circuits for each task.
