Powerline network

Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000940

A type of network that uses a building's existing electrical wiring to transmit data. Adapters plug into wall outlets and convert network signals into electrical signals that travel over the power lines, allowing devices to connect to the internet or a local network without running new Ethernet cables. Data transfer speeds vary depending on the electrical wiring quality and distance, typically ranging from 200 Mbps to over 1 Gbps.
