An individual who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or disrupting normal on-topic discussion. Their actions are often characterized by a disregard for social etiquette and a desire to create conflict. Many online platforms have policies against such behavior.
