data integrity
Term · Cybersecurity · MLC-T-CYB-001228
1. The property that data has not been altered in an unauthorized manner. Data integrity covers data in storage, during processing, and while in transit.
2. A property possessed by data items that have not been altered in an unauthorized manner since they were created, transmitted or stored.
3. A property whereby data has not been altered in an unauthorized manner since it was created, transmitted, or stored.
4. Assurance that the data are unchanged from creation to reception.
5. See Data integrity.
6. A property whereby data has not been altered in an unauthorized manner since it was created, transmitted or stored.
7. The property that data has not been altered by an unauthorized entity.
8. A property possessed by data items that have not been altered in an unauthorized manner since they were created, transmitted, or stored.
9. The property that data has not been changed, destroyed, or lost in an unauthorized or accidental manner.
10. A property whereby data has not been altered in an unauthorized manner since it was created, transmitted or stored.
In this Recommendation, the statement that a cryptographic algorithm "provides data integrity" means that the algorithm is used to detect unauthorized alterations.
11. A property whereby data has not been altered in an unauthorized manner since it was created, transmitted or stored. In this Recommendation, the statement that a cryptographic algorithm "provides data integrity" means that the algorithm is used to detect unauthorized alterations.
