A privacy principle (FIPP) that encourages an organization to involve the individual in the process of using PII and, to the extent practicable, for the organization to seek consent from the individual for the creation, collection, use, processing, storage, maintenance, dissemination, or disclosure of PII as well as for the organization to establish procedures to handle privacy- related complaints and inquiries.
