Term · Cybersecurity · MLC-T-CYB-002208

1. A network in which the establishment, maintenance, and provisioning of security controls are under the direct control of organizational employees or contractors or in which the cryptographic encapsulation or similar security technology implemented between organization-controlled endpoints provides the same effect (with regard to confidentiality and integrity). An internal network is typically organization-owned yet may be organization-controlled while not being organization-owned.

2. A network where: (i) the establishment, maintenance, and provisioning of security controls are under the direct control of organizational employees or contractors; or (ii) cryptographic encapsulation or similar security technology provides the same effect. An internal network is typically organization-owned, yet may be organization-controlled while not being organization-owned.

3. A network where establishment, maintenance, and provisioning of security controls are under the direct control of organizational employees or contractors; or the cryptographic encapsulation or similar security technology implemented between organization-controlled endpoints, provides the same effect (with regard to confidentiality and integrity). An internal network is typically organization-owned, yet may be organization-controlled while not being organization-owned.

4. A network where: (i) the establishment, maintenance, and provisioning of security controls are under the direct control of organizational employees or contractors; or (ii) cryptographic encapsulation or similar security technology implemented between organization-controlled endpoints, provides the same effect (at least with regard to confidentiality and integrity). An internal network is typically organization-owned, yet may be organization-controlled while not being organization-owned.

5. A network where the establishment, maintenance, and provisioning of security controls are under the direct control of organizational employees or contractors. Cryptographic encapsulation or similar security technology implemented between organization-controlled endpoints provides the same effect (at least regarding confidentiality and integrity). An internal network is typically organization-owned yet may be organization-controlled while not being organization-owned.

6. A network where the establishment, maintenance, and provisioning of security controls are under the direct control of organizational employees or contractors, or the cryptographic encapsulation or similar security technology implemented between organization-controlled endpoints provides the same effect (with regard to confidentiality and integrity). An internal network is typically organization-owned yet may be organization-controlled while not being organization-owned.
