1. Standard protocol for transmission of data from source to destinations in packet-switched communications networks and interconnected systems of such networks.
2. The Internet Protocol, as defined in IETF RFC 6864, which is the principal communications protocol in the IETF Internet protocol suite for specifying system address information when relaying datagrams across network boundaries.
