1. Protocols that allow users to view, modify, and transfer/update data between a cell phone and personal computer.
2. Protocols that allow users to view, modify, and transfer/update PDA data from the PC or vice-versa. The two most common synchronization protocols are: Microsoft’s ActiveSync and Palm’s HotSync.
