Shakes/shingles
Term · Energy · MLC-T-ENE-002077
Flat pieces of weather proof material laid with others in a series of overlapping rows as covering for roofs and sometimes the sides of buildings. Shakes are similar to wood shingles, but instead of having a cut and smoothly planed surface, shakes have textured grooves and a rough or "split" appearance to give a rustic feeling.
