Measurement Errors

Errors in the observed data that are a function of human or instrumental error during collection. Such errors may be independent or random. When a persistent bias or miscalibration is present in the measurement device, measurement errors may be correlated among observations. In some disciplines, measurement error may be referred to as observation error.
