Carmagnole

A short, loose-fitting work jacket, typically made of wool or other coarse fabric, associated with French laborers and revolutionaries in the late 18th century. It featured a simple cut, wide collar, and rows of buttons, designed for ease of movement during manual labor. The jacket's name is also the title of a popular song and dance from the same period, the French Revolution.
