Gondola

An open-top railway freight car with fixed sides and ends, used for transporting bulk commodities that do not require protection from the weather. These cars are commonly used for materials such as coal, sand, gravel, scrap metal, and timber. Gondolas are loaded from the top and unloaded by tipping or with excavators, making them efficient for bulk handling.
