Horsebox

A type of railway wagon specifically designed for the transport of horses. These enclosed vehicles featured internal partitions to create stalls, padding for protection, and windows for ventilation, with accommodation for a groom in an adjacent compartment. While once common, their use on mainline railways was superseded by road transport in the mid-20th century.
