Kitting

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003192

The process in manufacturing and logistics of gathering all the individual components, parts, and materials required to assemble a specific product or subassembly into a single package or kit. This prepared kit is then delivered to the point of use on the assembly line. By pre-sorting parts, kitting reduces the time assemblers spend searching for materials and minimizes the chance of using incorrect components.
