Minikin
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003681
An archaic name for a very small size of printing type, equivalent to approximately 3 points in the modern Anglo-American system. This size was used for printing miniature books, complex tables, or marginal notes where extreme compactness was required. Due to its tiny size, it was difficult to cast, set by hand, and read, making it one of the least common historical type sizes.
