Commercial appropriation

The unauthorized use of a person's name, likeness, or other identifiable personal attributes for commercial gain without their consent. This tort, also known as misappropriation of likeness, can lead to claims for invasion of privacy. Professional liability policies, particularly those for media or advertising professionals, often include coverage for defense and damages arising from such claims.
