An individual authorized to sell insurance policies on behalf of an agent or broker, but who does not have the authority to bind coverage or issue policies directly. A solicitor acts as a representative of the agent or broker, performing sales and administrative tasks under their supervision. This role differs from that of an agent, who represents an insurer, or a broker, who represents the insured.
