Fire weather

A set of atmospheric conditions that collectively create an environment conducive to the ignition and rapid spread of wildfires. These conditions include high temperatures, low relative humidity, strong surface winds, and atmospheric instability. Meteorologists issue specific fire weather forecasts and warnings, such as Red Flag Warnings, when these conditions are met or expected, which land management agencies use to assess fire danger.
