Lull

A temporary decrease in wind speed or a brief pause in precipitation during a storm or windy period. This period of relative calm is distinct from the more sustained high winds or heavy precipitation that precede and follow it. In the context of a hurricane, the passage of the eye over a location produces a pronounced lull characterized by light winds and clearing skies.
