Assumptions (for IPEs, IPEEs, and PRAs)
Term · Nuclear energy and radiation · MLC-T-NUC-000017
In the context of individual plant examinations (IPEs), individual plant examinations for external events (IPEEE), and probabilistic risk assessments (PRAs), assumptions are those parts of the mathematical models that the analyst expects will hold true for the range of solutions used for making decisions. Without assumptions, even the most powerful computers may not be able to provide useful solutions for the models.
