Claims (8)
- Isolated nucleic acid molecule which codes for a protein consisting of the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein said protein has D-hydantoinase activity, and retains about 100% of said D-hydantoinase activity after 20 minutes at 60° C., when present in a 50 mmol/l Tris buffer, pH 7.8, at a concentration of 15 mg/ml, and retains about 80% of said D-hydantoinase activity after 20 minutes at 65° C., in a 50 mmol/l Tris buffer at pH 7.8.
- The isolated nucleic acid molecule of claim 1, selected from the group consisting of: (i) an isolated nucleic acid molecule having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, and (ii) an isolated nucleic acid molecule complementary to SEQ ID NO: 2.
- Recombinant vector comprising the isolated nucleic acid molecule of claim 1, operably linked to a promoter.
- Isolated host cell transformed or transfected with the isolated nucleic acid molecule of claim 1.
- The isolated host cell of claim 4, wherein said cell is prokaryotic.
- The isolated host cell of claim 4, wherein said cell is eukaryotic.
- The isolated host cell of claim 5, wherein said cell is E. coli.
- The isolated host cell of claim 6, wherein said cell is Saccharomyces.
