403 error

Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000002

An HTTP status code indicating that the server understood the request but refuses to authorize it. Unlike a 401 Unauthorized error, which implies authentication could grant access, a 403 Forbidden error means the client's identity is known but they lack the necessary permissions to view the content. This response can occur due to misconfigured file permissions on the web server or access rules that explicitly deny entry to a specific user or IP address.
