A server-side scripting engine from Microsoft for creating dynamic and interactive web pages, officially named Classic Active Server Pages. ASP code, embedded within an HTML document, is processed by the server before the page is sent to the user's browser. This technology is now considered obsolete and has been superseded by ASP.NET.
