Cybersquatter

An individual or entity that registers, traffics in, or uses an internet domain name with the intent to profit from a trademark belonging to someone else. The practice involves acquiring domain names that are identical or confusingly similar to existing brands, then attempting to sell them to the trademark owner or a third party. The Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA) in the United States provides a legal remedy for trademark holders.
