Digital Video Recorder, an electronic device that records video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, SD card, or other local or networked mass storage device. It allows users to pause, rewind, and fast-forward live television broadcasts. DVRs have largely replaced VCRs for home video recording.
