External hard drive

A portable storage device that contains a hard disk drive or solid-state drive, enclosed in a protective casing, and connected to a computer via an external interface like USB, Thunderbolt, or eSATA. It provides additional storage capacity for backups, large files, or expanding a computer's storage without opening the case. Capacities range from hundreds of gigabytes to many terabytes.
