External Serial Advanced Technology Attachment: An external interface for connecting storage devices, such as hard drives and solid-state drives, to a computer. It provides a faster and more reliable connection than USB 2.0 for external storage, offering data transfer rates comparable to internal SATA connections. eSATA ports are found on many desktop and some laptop computers.
