EIDE

Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics, an improved version of the IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) interface standard for connecting storage devices like hard drives and optical drives to a computer's motherboard. It offered faster data transfer rates, support for larger hard drives, and the ability to connect up to four devices per controller. EIDE was largely superseded by SATA (Serial ATA).
