Parallel port

An interface on a computer that sends multiple bits of data simultaneously over separate wires. This contrasts with serial ports, which transmit data one bit at a time. Historically, parallel ports were widely used for connecting printers, but their use has largely been superseded by faster serial interfaces like USB.
