Uplink port

A network port on a switch or hub designed to connect to another switch or hub, typically using a straight-through cable rather than a crossover cable. This port allows for the expansion of a network by linking multiple networking devices together. Some modern switches feature auto-sensing ports that can function as either standard or uplink ports.
