A method of distributing software updates, configuration settings, or encryption keys to electronic devices wirelessly. Over-the-air (OTA) updates are sent from a central server to devices like smartphones, tablets, and Internet of Things hardware without requiring a physical connection. This process is distinct from sideloading, where a user manually installs a software package from a local file.
