A multimedia framework developed by Apple, capable of handling digital video, audio, animation, text, and panoramic images. First released in 1991, it consists of the QuickTime Player application, the QuickTime framework for developers, and the MOV file format. While support for the Windows version was discontinued in 2016, it remains an integrated component of the macOS operating system.
