The codename for version 10.4 of Apple's Mac OS X desktop and server operating system, released in 2005. It introduced several new features, including the Spotlight desktop search engine, the Dashboard for hosting mini-applications called widgets, and Automator for scripting repetitive tasks. Tiger was also the first version of Mac OS X to officially support Apple computers with Intel processors, beginning with version 10.4.4.
