Timestamp

A data value representing a specific point in time, recorded to log when an event occurred. It is used in file systems to track modification dates, in databases for transaction logging, and in network protocols to sequence packets. Timestamps are frequently stored as the number of seconds or milliseconds that have elapsed since the Unix Epoch, which is midnight Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on January 1, 1970.
