Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001047
A document file format, known as Rich Text Format, developed by Microsoft for cross-platform document interchange. It encodes text formatting such as font, size, and style, along with basic page layout information, using a system of human-readable control words and symbols embedded within the text. Unlike plain text files, RTF can preserve formatting, but it lacks the advanced features of formats like DOCX, such as embedded objects or macros.
