Random Bit Generator (RBG)

Term · Cybersecurity · MLC-T-CYB-003418

1. A device or algorithm that can produce a sequence of bits that appear to be both statistically independent and unbiased.

2. A device or algorithm that outputs bits that are computationally indistinguishable from bits that are independent and unbiased.

3. Random Bit Generator

4. A device or algorithm that outputs a sequence of bits that appears to be statistically independent and unbiased. Also, see Random number generator.

5. A device or algorithm that outputs a sequence of binary bits that appears to be statistically independent and unbiased. An RBG is either a DRBG or an NRBG.

6. A device or algorithm that outputs a random sequence that is effectively indistinguishable from statistically independent and unbiased bits. An RBG is classified as either a DRBG or an NRBG.

7. A device or algorithm that outputs a sequence of bits that appears to be statistically independent and unbiased.

8. A device or algorithm that outputs a sequence of bits that appears to be statistically independent and unbiased. Also see Random number generator.

9. A device or algorithm that outputs a sequence of bits that appear to be statistically independent and unbiased. Also, see Random number generator.
