1. The smallest integer that is larger than or equal to X. The ceiling of X.
2. Byte string to be converted to or from an integer; the output of conversion from an ASCII string.
1. Used to indicate that data X is an optional input to the key derivation function.
2. Indicates that the inclusion of X is optional.
1. The length of a bit string X in bits.
2. The length (in bits) of the bit string x. For example, |01100100| = 8.
3. The absolute value of x.
1. The smallest integer that is larger than or equal to X. The ceiling of X. For example, ⌈8.2⌉ = 9.
2. The ceiling of x; the smallest integer ≥ x. For example,⎾5⏋= 5 and⎾5.2⏋= 6.
3. For a real number x, ⌈x⌉ is the least integer that is not strictly less than x. For example, ⌈3.2⌉ = 4, ⌈-3.2⌉ = -3, and ⌈6⌉=6.
4. The ceiling of x; the smallest integer ≥ x. For example,⎾5⏋= 5 and⎾5.3⏋= 6.
5. The ceiling of x; the smallest integer ≥ x. For example, ⌈5⌉ = 5 and ⌈5.3⌉ = 6.
1. The floor of a non-negative number a: the greatest integer that is smaller than or equal to a. For example,⎣5⎦ = 5, and⎣5.9⎦ = 5.
2. The floor of x; the largest integer ≤ x. For example,⎿5⏌ = 5 and⎿6.9⏌ = 6.
3. The floor function of x; for a given real positive x,ëxû = x-g, whereëxûis a non-negative integer, and 0 ≤ g< 1.
4. The floor of x; the greatest integer that does not exceed x. For example, ⌊2.1⌋ = 2, and ⌊4⌋ = 4.
