Application Programming Interface

Application Programming Interface, or "API," is a set of programs that allow an application to interact with others. The Census Bureau has developed the Census API enabling developers to design Web and mobile apps to learn more about America's changing population and economy. The API lets developers customize apps to provide quick and easy access from sets of statistics.
