Business Master File

The Business Master file is a database of information maintained on businesses operating in the United States and filing taxes. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) updates the BMF on a regular basis so that it reflects current records of each business that pays taxes. The BMF is used to supplement the U.S. Census Bureau's Business Register.
