Term · Economic statistics · MLC-T-ECS-000543

In planning the 10-year census of population and housing, the Census Bureau generally conducts a dress rehearsal before each census. The rehearsal usually is conducted in multiple sites using whatever forms, operations, systems, procedures, and schedules that are known or planned (at that point) for the next census. Dress rehearsals have been conducted for every census since 1970. ("Full dress" pretests were conducted before the 1950 census.)
