NAICS

Acronym for North American Industry Classification System, an industrial classification system used by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to group establishments into categories on the basis of the activity in which the establishments are primarily engaged.

Note: NAICS was developed jointly by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, Statistics Canada, and Mexico’s Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia to provide improved comparability in industrial statistics across North America.
