Delivered energy

The amount of energy supplied to the end-use sectors (residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation). Includes the coal, natural gas, petroleum products, renewable energy, and electricity sales to ultimate customers purchased by consumers in the end-use sectors. Excludes electricity generated on-site (such as from rooftop solar panels or combined-heat-and-power systems) and non-marketed renewable energy (solar water heating, ground-source heat pumps, wood from your backyard, etc.) produced and consumed entirely within the sector.
