Action Level

1. The level of lead or copper which, if exceeded in over 10% of the homes tested, triggers treatment or other requirements that a water system must follow.
2. The level of lead or copper which, if exceeded, triggers treatment or other requirements that a water system must follow.
3. The concentration of lead or copper in water specified at Code of Federal Regulations 141. 80(c) which determines, in some cases, the treatment requirements contained in subpart I of this part that a water system is required to complete.
4. A term used to identify the level of indoor radon (http://www.epa.gov/radon/index.html) at which remedial action is recommended. (EPA's current action level is 4 pCi/L in the air.)
