1. An alias is a symbolic link which points to a specified directory. NCC recommends that aliases be created at the TSSMS level only (i.e http://www.epa.gov/water/for/public/data/watrhome/web). Aliases beneath the TSSMS Level can complicate site management. For more information, refer to the Web Guide's Alias page (https://www.epa.gov/webguide/urls-and-aliases-www).
2. Alternate name under which a site may be identified.
