Allowable Cost

1. Costs that are eligible, reasonable, necessary, and allocable; are permitted under the appropriate Federal cost principles; and are in accordance with EPA policy. Examples are: contractual services, response by State employees (under a Cooperative Agreement or contract), materials and supplies, equipment, other direct costs and indirect costs.

2. Those project costs that are: Eligible, reasonable, necessary, and allocable to the project; permitted by the appropriate Federal cost principles; and approved by EPA in the Cooperative Agreement and/or Superfund State Contract.
