Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-003196

1. An air emissions source created by some sort of biological activity. Examples include emissions resulting from microbial activity in soils and emissions from trees and other vegetation. Emissions from biogenic sources are a subset of emissions from natural sources (see natural source).

2. Emissions that are naturally occurring and are not significantly affected by human actions or activity.

3. Emissions from natural sources. In NATA, biogenic emissions are those from trees, plants and soil microbes.
