Boolean Operators

1. AND, OR, and NOT are Boolean Operators. These three words can be used to make a query in a literature search more narrow or broad, or to exclude certain results.
2. "AND", "OR" and "NOT" used to describe logical relationships about or between terms, variables and statements. They can be used with terms in search queries to refine user search queries. To find documents on recycling other than paper you could enter the search: recycling AND NOT paper.
