The non-airborne combustion residue from burning pulverized coal in a boiler; the material which falls to the bottom of the boiler and is removed mechanically; a concentration of non-combustible materials, which may include toxics.\n\n2. Ash that collects at the bottom of a combustion chamber.\n\n3. Ash that drops out of the furnace gas stream in the furnace and in the economizer sections. Economizer ash is included when it is collected with bottom ash.\n\n4. The solid material that remains on a hearth or falls off the grate after thermal processing is complete.\n\n5. Ash, including boiler slag, which settles in the furnace or is dislodged from furnace walls. Economizer ash is included in this definition when it is collected with bottom ash.\n\n6. Incombustible matter resulting from combustion that does not leave as fly ash.",
