1. The institutional, organizational, technical and financial ability to address issues. Used in the context of these guidelines as the capacity of education agencies or local governments to have the organization, staff, technical and financial resources to safely operate school facility risk reduction measures such as lead encapsulation and to inspect, maintain and ensure long-term stewardship of any institutional or engineering controls designed to protect people from residual site contamination following a cleanup.

2. The available space for, or ability to handle, freight.

3. The maximum amount that can be produced or contained and applied here mainly to equipment or machinery measurements.

4. The maximum instantaneous output of an energy conversion device, often expressed in kilowatts (kW) or megawatts (MW).

5. The maximum electric output an EGU can produce, commonly expressed in kilowatts (kW) or megawatts (MW).

6. The amount of water a well or intake can deliver to a water distribution system. Capacity may be expressed in units that are equivalent to a pumpage rate or as a percentage of the system's requirements.
