Cardiac valve

1. Any of the four heart valves, including the two atrioventricular valves and the two semilunar valves, that regulate the flow of blood through the chambers of the heart.

2. Flaps of tissue that prevent regurgitation of blood from the ventricles to the atria or from the pulmonary arteries or aorta to the ventricles.
